Lot-89

The Oscar

Follow the build.

4474 Hathern Drive, Pineville, LA 71360 | Lot-89 is also known as "The Oscar." This home is the second lot we have on the new side of the subdivision.

We always start the foundation off by taking the area of the home pad down to undisturbed dirt and start from there and build up a floating engineered pad with building dirt.

Our favorite dirt man did a jam-up job on that pad, per usual. He has been doing foundations for many years and follows all the guidelines when it comes to dirt. I always learn something new about dirt just from hearing his stories from the past.

The next step from here is to get a compaction test done by a geological company. Once that step is complete, we will start digging the foundation out and getting plumbers and electricians on site.

The foundation company came out and put up the batter boards and started their part of the project.

Other than a few sub-contractor delays, this build is moving along nicely compared to when covid first happened. It seems like everyone is getter better at navigating through these unforeseen times.

The plumbing company stopped by to get their part of the build started. At this step, we are not far from pouring cement, and it's a good feeling.

The foundation company is working alongside the cement company to get Lot-89’s home pad poured out.

This part of the build is one of the most exciting parts of the process. It's a significant milestone for the project.

The foundation turned out great! The framers are en route to start their part of the process.

We started framing Lot-90 just days before we finished up this foundation. Lot-90 is the frame in the background of this picture. Both homes are moving along just fine, even though we are still dealing with Covid-19

The next phase of the build is to get the home framed up.

The frame starts to tell the story of the home. At this phase, we can see the Silhouette.

Usually, this is a quick process taking a week to a week and a half to get a home of this size in the dry.

It has been a challenge dealing with covid and lumber. The lumber is twice, sometimes three times more expensive, and The quality of the wood Has gone down.
